My career of a professional sculptor started in the last years spent at the “George Enescu” Conservatory in Iaşi. In the year of graduation (1988), I opened my first personal exhibition of sculptures and drawings at the Trianon Galleries in Iaşi. I was preoccupied with the viewing of archaic Egyptian, Greek and Mesopotamian forms ever since then, but also with medieval ones, complemented with a patina of surfaces that artistically accentuated the olden look. The volumetry of sculptures refers to old, nonfunctional architectures, to the traces of ancient temples, or tribal sacred enclosures, all of which being added to the cycle of sculptures titled Arhaică (Archaic).
